While this E-II sure is eye-catching – it is most definitely not all looks. The mahogany body delivers a solid, full sound with plenty of midrange punch – perfect for cutting through a band mix. Meanwhile, the quilted maple top not only looks stunning but, paired with the maple neck-through construction, adds clarity and snap.The ebony fretboard is smooth and feels fast under your fingers. Pickup-wise, the EMG 66/57 set gives you great heavy and crunchy/clean tones and has increased low end, less sandy highs compared to standard active pickups. The Thin U neck profile is comfortable and quick, especially if you’re used to shredding on flatter necks, and the 12” radius balances chord comfort with lead playability. The Gotoh hardware, TOM bridge, and bone nut all do their job -tuning is stable, sustain is solid, and setup is easy.
The guitar is in excellent condition. There are some small, barely noticeable scratches on the back, hard to photograph. The only imperfection we can find is little corrosion around pickup ring screws and pole pieces, caused by regular playing.
