ESP’s Custom Shop is known for fulfilling oddly specific, strange or sometimes even downright bizarre orders. With this example we are presented with a 2-piece mahogany body, whose thickness is closer to a Les Paul than other Explorer shapes. Next up we get a thick, 3-piece set-in mahogany neck with a gorgeous, dark ebony fingerboard, which sports 24 nickel frets and gorgeous mother-of-pearl block inlays. The combination of the smooth fingerboard and highly polished frets makes for a very fast feeling guitar, even though the neck profile is definitely on the thicker side. The tuning machines are ESP made, and the bridge and tailpiece are TonePros. All of the hardware sports a chrome finish. For an axe like this, the pickups must be monstrous as well – this order comes with a Seymour Duncan SH-6 and a Seymour Duncan Invader in the bridge and neck respectively.
If you ever wanted to stand out from other Explorer users thanks to unique specs and looks, you may want to consider this as your next weapon of choice!
This guitar is in good condition. The top wing has a few indentations and a small spot with the lacquer missing, and there is a scratch on the top nearby. Next to the bottom strap button, there is also a mark similar to the ones on the top wing. The defects are purely visual and do not impact playability in any way. There are also a few microindentations above the control knobs, as well as signs of normal use in the form of scratch marks between and around the pickups.
