Ernie Ball Music ManJohn Petrucci requires no introduction. He is one of those rare virtuosos that know how to bridge the gap between heavy, progressive, guitar driven music and the mainstream. Of course, such a gargantuan task cannot be accomplished without a solid, reliable guitar - such as Petrucci’s own signature Ernie Ball Music Man JPXI Onyx.
This Ernie Ball Music Man JPXI finished in ONyx features a solid alder body with a maple top and mahogany Tone Block finished in high gloss polyester. The bolt-on Flame maple neck features an ebony fingerboard which has been fitted with 24 medium jumbo stainless steel frets. The hardware on this guitar features Schaller M6-IND locking tuners with pearl buttons and a Custom John Petrucci Music Man® Piezo floating tremolo, made of chrome plated, hardened steel with Fishman Powerbridge piezo saddles for acoustic-like tones. The pickups however are the crushing DiMarzio Crunchlab and Liquifire set, in the bridge and neck positions respectively. For custom pickup configurations, a push/pull tone knob has been installed.
The guitar is in good condition. There is one very small dent on the back of the neck, which has been slightly polished up from playing. Two screws to the piezo module are missing, as is the tremolo bar.
