Freak GuitarsToday we’re presenting a Swedish-made, seven-string version of the Freak Guitar Lab model “ULV,” designed by metal guitar virtuoso Mattias IA Eklundh. This instrument is crafted at the True Temperament factory in Trollhättan.
The standout feature, of course, is the True Temperament stainless-steel frets, which deliver near-perfect intonation compared to traditional straight fret designs. The red alder body, paired with a laminated maple and walnut neck, strikes the ideal balance between tonal richness and structural stability, while the ebony fretboard provides a smooth, fast playing feel. Thanks to its deep body contours, the guitar is exceptionally comfortable to play. It features a 25.5-inch scale length and a 16-inch fretboard radius - specs that will feel familiar to most players. Continuing with the “Made in Sweden” theme, the pickups are a Lundgren Black Heaven set, delivering a tight, aggressive tone. As for the floating bridge, it features a beloved Floyd Rose system, ensuring reliable performance and expressive pitch control. The result is a no-compromise metal machine - built for precision, playability, and power.
