This guitar was built in the Ibanez Custom Shop by the best of the best luthiers. The attention to detail is nothing short of insane, as is the build quality in general. The woods utilized in this build are alder (for the wings of the body), glued onto the 5-piece set through maple/jatoba neck. The fretboard is rosewood and features 24 Jumbo frets with Prestige fret edge treatment. The hardware color is black, and encompasses the FX Edge III-8 bridge, Hipshot tuners and volume and tone knobs. As this is a Meshuggah signature, the pickup is exactly what the band uses to produce their skullcrushing sound – The Lundgren Model 8 pickup, which balances high-output with clarity.
The guitar is in great condition. Small scratches are visible under the right lighting conditions in a few spots across the back of the neck and on the back in the typical “buckle rash” area, and two slightly deeper scuffs near the bridge. Due to the open pore finish, the defects are barely noticeable.
