The Ibanez AZ2204B is a modern, high-performance take on the classic S-style guitar, combining boutique-level craftsmanship with versatile electronics and exceptional playability.
While some AZs are full blown superstrats with 24 frets, and HH or HSS configuration, this is an excellent take on a strat-style guitar with a very interesting twist, with split-coil Humbucker at the bridge. It has an “Alter switch” for 2 configuration schemes that add even more to it’s versatility (in-series singles for example among the options). The pickups themselves are not a pushover either, those are Seymour Duncan Hyperions. The guitar can do Fender strat sound, the humbucker can do some classic metal too and sound great while at it. All and all this puppy can cover a variety of genres. The AZ Oval C neck profile is considered by many players to be the perfect middle ground between chunky strat necks and modern comfy feel.
